Welcome to our website! Members of our society have all successfully traced their family lineage to a Colonial Ancestor and beyond. We hope you will find useful information to help you find your “Colonial Roots.”
We are a part of Colonial Dames XVII Century. A national lineage society seeking to preserve historical documents and sites across the United States. A list of sites marked by Tennessee Society Colonial Dame 17th Century is coming soon. If you know a site that needs to be marked, please let us know. Membership eligibility starts with the records to prove you are a descendant from a Colonial ancestor who served in the American Colonies prior to 1701, allowing you to leave a record of your life and family history to your posterity. Through membership in our society, you can trace and prove your lineage to carry your ancestral heritage forward for your descendants. We believe there is no greater gift you can leave your descendants than your family history. We maintain one of the largest collections of Coats of Arms in the country – a unique aspect of our society. Coats of Arms are comprised of various symbols and represent the heraldic achievements of individuals and groups for thousands of years. Here you will find information on our chapters in Tennessee as well as upcoming meetings and special events. We have 11 chapters and more than 400 members in Tennessee. Contact us to find a chapter near you! We will be publishing the histories of our members’ ancestors and hope you will find your Colonial ancestor as you travel with us on a journey through time and back to your Colonial roots. |
